Title: What would you do ??
Post by: JHHD4by4 on October 30, 2012, 09:29:17 PM
Custom duals done on a "newer dodge" 2 years ago.... Returns with a broken hanger and rubbed hole in his spare tire that he was warned about... Offered to look and see what was happening with the hanger, but is the tire isssue our fault, 2 years later ??  Tire costs $400 dollars to replace, and thats more money than the duals cost.... This just rubbed me way wrong, what would you do ??

Sounds like the hanger was broke for awhile .....tires are tuff and can rub for a minute bfore they get a hole in them  ==doh

Guy sounds Lazy ...due to not fixing right away ...

Sounds like you did what you could do ......and Lazy guy just want's something for nothing

Best of luck ...but i'd have to guess he is going to piss and moan and try to make you feel bad ....hence getting his way ...which is probubly why he has ended up being the lazy piss and moaner he is today

Dont En-able him......set him straight ...perhaps he will learn his lesson

Or

Your shop does terrible work and you owe the guy a tire .....you decied .....

X2, all it takes is one unhappy customer to tell 10 friends....who tell 10 friends....who tell 10 friends...

I would say it all depends on the guys attitude... I have had customers come back with same situations... and as long as they were polite I would go out of my way, and in most cases loose money, on stuff that is way out of warranty, this not only makes the customer happy and he will recommend me to more people but he will also bring more work my way.  I'm a pretty nice guy, but if a customer comes to with an attitude and its all my fault.... I show him the door real fast, and tell him to never come back. Also all the work that I do warranty, which is almost everything, I print out a invoice with the date the repairs were made and how long the warranty is, so if it does come down to it, they cant really argue with that loll

Very well said... And he entered the door with an attitude...but I also worry about telling the 10 friends thing too...can't make everyone happy I guess...

I never worried about it, when the occasional person did come in like that, if he does go tell 10 friends then so be it, when you do get another customer, they will tell 10 of there friends the good job you do, I have found Good word travels faster and better than bad word, most likely what "bad" he has to say will go to his 10 friends and no further, where as if it was good, his 10 friends would tell there ten friends, and so on,  I would say it is the way most people are, we all can go on and on about how good some one is or good things about it, but for me and most people it is hard to put someone down and is quite frankly a waste of time loll
