Hello , pretty sure most of u already know me if not , my name is Mr. Jody Beaver and I work at Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint. Most of your probably seen on the news that the Powers has bought or will be moving into our land or used to be ours
developers built us a new smaller school . Anyhow my point of making this is that we re desperately in need of equipments or donatation of things . i ll give u a example a few student asked me if they can work out ( with weights) i said sure i ll go with u guys and i was dumbfounded when i just see dumbells thats all that goes up to 40 or 45 lbs . we have some benches but no bars or weights. IF you people know anyone giving out things like that we need those but no junk really . Also we need some ideas on fundraising , how to and etc i suggest mudbog but not sure how that works with using someone s property if i plan to ask someone on here . I know i am deaf but i m capable of doing what u guys do out there , but apparently we always felt pushed down , but i m not talking about u guys . Since i ve been into bogging i ve met so many great peoples. I just feel bad for the deaf kids we have here at the school , also i have a 16 month old deaf kid that will be attending this school too. I wanted them to thrive and strive as much as other kids and schools out there .
SO sorry about the exaggerating story but asking mainly about the weights and bars if anyone knows or want to donate? and fundraising ideas re welcomed thanks GotMud?
have the kids make flyers about the school, what you trying to do & looking for, ask stores if thay can be hung up so people see then. talk to new paper about a ad in it. when you are a mud bog or any event make big sign for asking for donation, and pass the hat around at them to.
not sure if u are on facebook or not but the have this page called saginaw area freecycle and u can post what you would like to receive for free and people do respond to people and i think you will find what u r looking for.....also as far as a fund raiser i always see people do a spaghetti dinner and it always works out good...most of the time u can get gordons food service to donate the stuff and it's not that hard to get other area business's involved. 50/50 raffle's are another good way to raise money. hope it helps
Be sure to include the fact that any "donations" would be a tax deduction.
