I think it sucks!!, I liked alot of snack cakes, zingers and twinkies, and fruit pies.
Tallahassee would be ==censor rite off :D
Its their own workers and unions fault. They were warned not just by hostess but by the teamsters also.... They cant have it all see what too much greed gets ya.... Absolutely nothing. They got what they deserve, I feel bad for the people that didnt want to strike, as they didnt have a choice in the matter
thay have been going under for the last 6 years.
true they have been going under, but they were making steps to save the company. Higher members took major pay cuts to save the company as they should. it came down to over powered union workers thats all there is too it. only the baking staff went on strike. the rest accepted there pay cuts. this is why america can keep up with china. we have people making a damn cupcake that make over 20 an hour. come on thats ridiculus!!!
it should be allowed to fail so someone else can buy it and start making a profit again. i watched a news report on it and wonder bread and Twinkies can't be hauled to the same store in the same truck yet are made in the same place...wtf is wrong with that picture lol.....same thing they should have let gm and Chrysler....only a matter of time before they again can't afford to pay the legacy costs and will be needing another bailout....strap in boys...it's only the beginning
You do understand, the miney was not just given to gm or chrysler. It was jyst a loan from the government with certian conditions, and iterest had to, paid on it as well. Last I knew the government only owns 15% of gm now so id say they are doing pretty damn good, wether you believe it or not, if work in michigan, and if either company let alone both went under, you and everyone you know would be jobless, wether you worked for them or not
are route guy for hostess that stops at are place, has taken pay cut of $15,000.00 in the last 2 years. He gets payed a flat rate plus commission of what he sells. it hard to sell when you can't get product to sell or its dictate to you what you can put in a store or not. thay have taken away 26 stops form him that thay are not sell to. we are vending comp. we pay less then a store because we do not return out date stuff to them. hostess came to us about 3 weeks ago and said thay are not spotting at are place any more, thay will if we pay $.12 more. thay still stop at the party store 1.5 miles from us, we take 10 times more stuff then them. we now get frozen hostess from a supplyer that has 3 times the self live. and some of it taste like crap now. when guys hear of higher up people taken pay cuts but then look at the bounces thay still make the same$$$$.
I find it odd that the ceo took a 300% pay increase, the higher ups took up to 80% while the same time hostess quit paying into the workers retirements not long before filing for bankruptcy.

i take it u work for gov motors lol....it's not a good practice when gov gets involved with any business. we are paying billions of dollars in interest to keep over paid auto workers making cars the avg americian can't afford...same thing with hostess the problem is and will always continue to be greedy union's wanting more and more and at some point it becomes pointless to run the company so they sell the brand off and start over....being one that worked for a union and knowing the corrupt p00 they do i don't blame them at all and personally don't think any union is worth saving..if u don't like your job quit...someone else will do it.
its sucks cause all my favorite junk foods are made by them lol
Screw em...some other company will rise up and fill the void. Gotta like a free market economy, o wait maybe the humanitarian douche obama will step in and save them!

Some unions are corrupt but it will bite them in the ass someday....as with hostess....keep on taking until nothing left.
And who I work for has nothing to do with looking at the facts...... have you ever worked in a production plant? I takeit as a no because if you did you see that if anything they are underpaid.
Also you must not be from mMichigan, as I can't say I haven't met someone that is and complains about the unions, you do realize the unions got workers minimum wage, 40 hr work week, labor laws, I mean this just naming a few, but hey if you think working at minimum wage is bad, then I would love to see you survive off .30 cents a hr, no benefits, no limits on hours, no overtime, if you want to be a slave go ahead, no one is stopping you, move to china, Russia or any other communist country, sounds like you would fit in perfect there.
Production work is for monkeys...thats why anyone off the street can do it...40 hours a week i got that in by noon tuesday. Unions are like our government, they have grown to big to serve any usefulness
I work in a non union production plant. We get paid decent and get over 40 hours. While I don't blame the union for what happened with hostess, I don't endorse them either. Misused power.
I think our economy would start healing if we let the market do what it's doing instead of artificially proping it up with borrowed money.
but the problem is that unions are driving the prices of american goods sky high. look at the prices for american made cars and trucks there insane. when you have jobs that would be a minimum wage job in a non union shop it would be a $15 an hour job in a union. then the union is setup to be non productive. you have your job and that is it. you cant help anyone else with a job or you get in trouble. its stupid.

i've worked in production plants that were union...if u call it that. i work and live in michigan and if u can read u would know that....right above m y pic say's st charles mi.....and to your comment about if gm fails mi fails...so not true...i worked for 3 different places that had nothing what so ever to do with the auto industry so i don't want to hear it from a boo hoo baby gm rat how we should spend billions of our dollars to keep your job which is doomed to fail based on the fact it's only a matter of time until auto co's can't afford to pay for all the retires that their health care plans keep them alive and drawing pensions and ss much longer than any one ever thought possible. typical of the me me generation to think gov should be in the business of anything other than governing the people in which it is suppose to serve....not support :)

worst part about the retirement is that they worked for 30 years, but get unlimited retirement makes 0 sense
no...they worked for what they got....would never take that away from them...but the system was flawed from the get go and what do they do to solve it...pass the buck on to the tax payer and convince them self america needs gm or chryster to make cars....ford did just fine without our tax money and should've been rewarded as being the last man standing for doing what the other 2 couldn't do...take care of them self :)
its all about THERE master plan boys n girls an the MASTER plan is called CORPORATIZATION.
