what goin to happen if i move my motor forward 2 in .. will it throw my weight dist all to heck ?
thinkin of usin the mounts for a sbc into a s10 ... it moves the mount on the motor side and not the frame side i think?? right
Drive shaft length changes, cross member needs moved, fan might hit radiator, headers might not fit...

all that is got to be changed no matter what at this point. the fan will have elec no matter what

I would think its a bad idea making the front too heavy everyone I know move the motor back lol if you have to cut the fire wall build a new one some of the ones I seen look better then stock

Check out d60kings s10 build. He's got a 632 moved back 4-8" if Iremember right? His box is nice
depends upon if you are going to use traction bars, and if so, what type. Yes the best weight transfer is moving the motor back. BUT if you have to move the motor forward for clearance it is do able... traction bars that run from the rear axle up to the frame near where the motor and trans bolt together. When you get on the gas hard, it helps to transfer the weight off the front tires. thus helping to keep the front from nose diving.
Also.. just by putting in a body lift in the s 10, you gain a ton of room...
it will be harder on your front axle putty more weight on it even if it is 2 inches

got it on a k5 frame its got a 3 in lift already.. my down fall is i choose to center the axel ..
guess should have moved the cab for the motor clearence..would been easier. goofy lookin but easier..lol

go and get a cheap steel wheelbarrow and use that for the firewall
I built a new fire wall on my rig, its not all that bad.
I would say move as far back as possable... more weight transfer to the back and keep the nose up as high as u can to float through.
you have to make cab mounts right? if so just move cab back some and go.
