Title: goverment buying ammo
Post by: michigan maniac on March 29, 2013, 02:49:37 AM
I heard today at work that the government bought back all the long rifle ammo threw out the us, and they are no longer gonna manufacture 30-30, 30-06 .22 ect... I guess cabellas was one of the last place to find rounds and they wanted 40 bucks for a box, anyone else hear about this? I browsed the local wally world and the rifle ammo shelves were pretty empty, only had 270 rounds and maybe 15 boxes of 30-06 rounds, just wondering if anyone knows for sure that they arnt making more, cuz if they arnt I'm gonna go buy the rest of the 30-06 rounds

They are manufacturing still, it's just that three years worth of ammo has been bought in the last few months, they can't keep up with production

Yup they figure if they can't take our guns they'll take the bullets.  A brick of 22 shells are going for almost 50 if you can find them let alone handgun ammo

Yeah they bought a ton, supposedly for homeland security agency training, but manufacturers aren't going to stop manufacturing they'd be stupid too, they're making more money than ever.
