I know I need get a 350 punched .30 over, get a 400 sbc crank, and a few other odds and end BUT, here's my question, I already got my 350 with a good lunati voodoo cam and a damn good set of aluminum heads. What would happen if I used my 350 heads instead of the 400 heads?
I ran 350 heads on mine.
the heads are fine your problem is gonna be your cam. Unless it was ground on a small base circle your gonna have a clearance problem which will mean having to grind on your rods so they don't make contact with the cam.
How can I tell if my cam was ground on a small base circle??
This is the cam I have,

best bet would be to get ahold of MFG. and tell them the motor you wanna use it in and see what they say
sounds like i get to make a phone call tommorow while im on duty ;D
I believe its a 350 .40 over with a 400 crank to make a 383.
If it wasnt special ordered small base with special ordered pushrods its not. 400 heads are the same as 350 heads just with steam ports drilled in them. Valves are all the same size. And depending on what rods ya run it will clear. Im runnin som forged scat 5.7 rods with screws that don't have a nut on the end and I clear. Altho if u use the stocke 400 5.565 rods I believe you wont have toclearence the block as much, or at all
Here thought this might help.
I got ahold of lunati this afternoon, I talked to them and the guy said my cam would work I just have to measure my push rod length and get some in that size
