Are you talking stock? I had a ten bolt built with 33 Spline axles and a full spool for roughly the same price as the 9" center chunk. Expect to pay $1300 for a 35 Spline center from mosier, just the chunk!  When I was pricing, my ten bolt cost me $1600 complete, and the similar 9" would of been $2600.

In our pro stock we have a bbc making 1000hp-1000ft lbs. we use a sheet metal for 9.  Now given its completely built for strength. But it is still a for 9"

you can find a 9'' out of a 70's pickup, for cheap, just make sure its a "nodular" they are very strong. it will have a "N" on the center chunk.

If you get the bronco rear end get the big bearing one it has the 31 spline axles  and are much stronger ..early one had the small bearing with  28 spline this is to weak .. go for the later bronco ..

They make a 40 spline axles to for the 9 inch ..
