Title: locking a dana 60 front
Post by: ballistics-10 on November 04, 2013, 02:07:06 AM
just looking for opinions on locking or keeping a dana 60 front axle open? i know locking the front would make steering difficult but i am running hyrdo steering so that shouldnt be a issue.. any other negatives or positives...

Lock it, with hydro steering you will be fine, depending on if you run locking hubs or drive flanges, if you run hubs you can always leave one unlocked and run 3 wheel drive to turn easier, that's what I do with my jeep in the trails because I haven't hooked up hydro asst yet, then if I need all 4 I just hop out and lock in the drivers hub

grizzly lockers are pretty good. its an auto locker like a detroit but cheaper. looked into 1 for my rockwell front axle and it was around 450. Ive run one in the rear of my bronco for at least 4 years now and like it alot.

Go with like a tru trac. A Detroit locker doesn't have enough freedom for turning
