Well i baited on state land from october first every weekend until opening of rifle season, got up there the 14th set up my blind threw out a little bait, scouted around a bit, nothing i didnt see brefore. Get up the next morning theres a guy in a stick built ground blind 30 yards straight infront of my bait. He sits there smoking, coughing, moving, and talking on the phone for 3 hours then stomps right over my bait on his way out, i sat a while got up and looked, he put 2 bags or carrots, beets, cotn, and apples out the night before, and hung the bags in a tree... from that time i never sen him nor a deer, after not seeing him for 2,days i took the bags, he came to my camp site saying i wrecked his hunt, i quickly grabbed my camera showed him pics of him at 5:03 pm the 14th smoking a cig over my bait.. He left fast....
I guess my point is, if you see someones bait already wjere you wanted to hunt have respect and dont hunt there, i moved 2 years ago because i walked up on bait.
Every once in a while I get a jack ass like that too....and at that point my hunt is ruined for the day, so I make damn sure he won't get nothing on my spot loll. Make a bunch of noise...all kinds of p00 loll....and if he still won't leave asim walking out the woods i 'll let a shot or two off and make damn sure he won't see nothing :-)
did that 5 yrs ago also opening day a family of 3 came in and sat around me with my bait a shot a buck before he got to the bait welcome to state land open hunting
Well, i got a 3 foot deep 4x4 foot hide hole or so from mineral blocks and a bag of powder. Im moving to a place i seen a lot of sign a little father off the beaten trail.
That guy sounds like a douche bag wanna be hunter.
If your hunting on state land............always have a 2nd spot to hunt.
Never had anybody in my spot before, but because its state land never say never.....
Ive hunted same spot for 6 years.. I reconize the guy but dont no where from.
Hey bud don't feel bad spent $600 to a trip in ohio to a small town where my uncle who's been going there for 8 years never seen but one old man in the woods. And ofcorse when I get down there there was people from all over the country in every spot you could imagine. Ended up hiking about a mile in a half threw them big a$$ hills and only hunted 3 times.. passed up a bunch of small bucks like u see in michigan but for the 3 out of the 5 days I was there were scouting to find a spot when we had multiple spots picked out already
