Should I stay with my 1 tons 4:88s with 44s
Or should I go to 2.5 rocks with 48-52 V treads
Just throwing ideas around. I don't have any problems becides trans but the FTI will fix that
Will be harder to fit in your garage with Rockwells... Guess you'll have to raise the garage and put a hoist in ???
one thing is how many other things would ya have too change too put the bigger axles in ???
if it aint broke dont fix it, you will never keep up with the jonse's lol
rocks i would say since you can get them for 1k from me one tons re probably same priced or a lil more thats just me run what u want
My main concern with rocks is how do the Gus get good wheel speed out of them with such low gearing? And what is the weight difference between a complete Dana 60 and a complete Rockwell

when my 2.5 rocks (1 front and 1 rear) came in on the frieght truck the slip said 1900 lbs flat, but thats with everything on them still from the M35A2 they came out of. but even when i de-braked them i prolly only lost 200-250 lbs-ish, but then i added my pinion brakes and lockers so i didnt lose much cause the lockers wiegh 9 lbs on there own and the pinion brake prolly wieghs 7-8 lbs complete? in all honesty the only place i can think of that i lost weight is switching from a cast iron NP205 t-case to a SCS t-case loll
If you want to be light and fast/ wheel speed stay with the one tons, if you want to be slower with tractor tires go with the rocks, unless you plan on 4 linking the whole thing and building a nice big block to gain some wheel speed back,
Its personal preference Joe.... Im glad I did it.. If you do it, 4 link it and be done... biggest regret I have is goin leaf spring... and I know that is a big argument amongst people too.. leafs or 4 link..
If your happy with 44's, that's all that matters..
My truck is no more.. tore down, new build starting, all 4 link, new motor, big cubic inch..
I ran 1 year with rocks and 44's and I year with V treads, I wouldn't go back for nothing.. love the v treads..
The mega truck thing is getting huge and only getting bigger....wildtime is building an off road park for mega trucks which will be awesome too
Just fix the trans AND RUN THE dog crap out of it

Too much carnage !! Joe If I were you I would stay one tons and get a nice set of boggers, then cut the rear and leave the front uncut

18.4-16.1 tractor tires aren't that hard in 1 tons they even weight less then a 44 bogger
