1999 ford f250 single cab 2wd 5 speed. its my company's crap truck. the truck will not start occasionally the starter will engage and then that's it nothing after it acts like someone flips a switch and it just stops. plus some other weird symptoms. i have tested the battery and check the cables and fuses all are ok.
Here is where the weird symptoms kick in. if i put the key in the ignition turn the key the gauges don't show any power if i turn the key repeatedly the gauges start to come up and then i proceed to start it and all that happens is the starter will engage then i loose it all. here is where it gets weirder, when the key in ignition alarm starts dinging if i turn on the headlights the dinging nothing happens when i turn the keys to start the truck and the head lights never come on.
this is the truck my boss let me drive while i get my truck back on the road and well now the trucks issues are my fault in his eyes so i have to figure this out or im S.O.L.
thanks for any imput guys.
My keyboard diagnostic tool says you have a bad electrical ground.
check ground strap from cab to motor and ground strap from body to battery.
go from there.

ive had it happen on both my f250 and f350 and both times it was the ground!
Hammerlane you hit the nail on the head it was the motor to cab ground starts just fine now. Greatly appreciate it guys.
