Post by: Hammerlane on March 04, 2014, 03:20:48 AM
Read a report the other day that Michigan has changed the rules and fees
Anyone heard anything about it?

Yeah I read some stuff online about it,  basically everyone has to buy a "basic" license, which is a small game license, then you can buy specific tags, but all prices have gone up,

Here's the link http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153-10363_14518_65243-305249--,00.html

BUT. From my understanding.  The 76 dollars gives you all species fishing, small game, and basic licenses. So all in all not a bad deal. Everything went up this year.

Basically they are forcing everyone to buy a small game license even if you don't use it, then you have to buy your deer tags like normal, can buy doe tags, a buck tag, or your normal combo buck tag, they all just cost more,  then like said above the people who hunt and fish can buy the combo that gets you small game and fishing tags

I guess that means I'm gonna have to start smallgame hunting again. No point to waste a license that they are gonna FORCE me to buy

They are going to be doing this for the next five years. If in that five year span the D.N.R. doesnt get all the projects done that they want to all license prices go to $0
