Was never a fan of the original planet of the apes.... Nor this one.
I now agree 100% with the decision.

I don't see the connection?
It was not meant to be personal or an attack on you Marshall. It was more of a miss used sentence. But, I will defend it. What I was refering to was that , I hear that statement " Don't Care" alot nowdays. Our way of life that was fought for is slowly being taken away because we look the other way when it does not directly involve us.
Current affairs are what gradually shape us as a society and ultimitly shape our country as to who we are and what we stand for it seems now days. There will undoubtably be some sort of repercussion from congress that results from this affair thus taking away a small part of your rights somehow. Example for instance, A nation wide curfew. Or no more than 10 people in a group when in a public area..... Look what came from the school shootings (cant take their guns, but we can take their ammo!!!) Which from the best of my knowledge started back in the eighties with the Brady affair that resulted in the brady bill....
We seem to be more interested in the aftermath of this affair than what the case was actually about. The question asked today was " do you agree with the verdict". My take was that this cop was being investigated for shooting an unarmed man (black or white, that don't matter. He was still an american citizen!!!!!) in the back while trying to surender. Evidence showed he was not shoot in the back... and i think the cop was justified. I did care about this case because what if that cop did shoot that man in the back, and it was racial, and the courts found him to be justified with the same evidence? Now you have a problem!!!
Again Marshall I did not mean to offend you, and I may be out of line, But those two words dont sit well with me, too many men and women have died to defend our way of life from friend or foe, not just to have someone say I don't care jim

too many people want to involve themselves in matters they know nothing about. I wasn't there, but the facts say the officer defended himself with justifiable force. Does this effect me? Nope. Do I care? Nope. Say what you want about me, i'll be here minding my own business.

i started this topic to get a opinion on this situation not to sway u eithe way DONT CARE WAS UNCALLED FOR, I AM NOT INVOLVED JUST WANTED A PUBLIC OPINION ON WHERE WE STAND .....NO I DIDNT STAND IN STREET JUST WAS ASKING A QUESTION ON CURRENT EVENTS
Sorry, that was my opinion? No need to get huffy. And to be clear, I was referring to the protesters as the ones getting involved without knowing the facts.
I m with Marshall... Don't care.... I wasnt aware any of it until I heard about the riot down there. Still don't care but care enough to say that those people that are involved in the riot n looting are freakin moron!
My friend got killed by a police officer! Lets go rob and burn down stores.. Sounds like todays youth.
I just wanna dance.....
opinions are good
thats why we have this section, this is a no buthurt section of the site
let them fly :) its all good bubba :) good stuff
Like Charles Barkley said those looters re scumbags! I gotta love this guy. He made many good point on his cnn interview I know there still some good black people out there.
well facts show it was justified and he was not shot in the back. but in the same aspect a person wonders how far the judicial system will go to defend their own.
on a different note doesnt matter if the one killed was black or white there is always going to be people of whatever race blowing things out of proportion and seeing it as a racist act. how many whites have been killed by blacks...no one bats an eye. a person of color killed by a white its all of a sudden a racist thing.
society needs to stop over exagerating things. i mean really in the beginning we did not treat people of color right, we owned them as slaves. they are human beings not a object to be owned but that was then. and now it is still being held against us white folk.
this is the USA doesnt matter what color you are you have the right to be treated fairly. but if you attack an officer you are more then likely going to get killed reguardless of your color. people should realize this
The guy was a thug he robed a store tried to take a cops gun if he will try that with a cop what would he do to the average person as for being unarmed the guy was six six three hundred pounds don't think he needed a weapon
While I do agree with the courts on this case, I disagree with the way the Eric garner case was handled

To an extent, I agree with you, but lets look at the whole picture here.
The guy was bootlegging untaxed smokes, (yes I know petty crime) but it was against the LAW. Now he did this not once, but several times................and was arrested several times for it, and arrested another 28 times for other p00, so he KNEW he was breaking the law.
Further more, how is it, that in a big city like NY, he couldn't get a legitimate job?? His RAP SHEET might have something to do with that.
Then you have his HEALTH problems, he weighed like 400 lbs, was over weight, had asthma problems, and it was determined that those also contributed to death.
To me, if he wasn't out there breaking the law, he would still be alive.
I've haven't watched any footage of the event, but I have heard that he also resisted arrest, and being so big, it took several guys to subdue him?
I do believe that police brutality exists, but I think in these instances, the MEDIA, likes to stir shitt up, especially RACE related issues. White people are shot by black cops and you don't see the media giving those case anywhere near the attention they devote to "white on black crimes".
He wasn't selling untaxed smokes at the time tho.
