My truck is going in the body shop tomarrow to get some cancer takin care of before winter and I'm trying to figure out why my low 4 doesn't work High 4 works great but low won't engauge I hear it might be a fuse but I can't find where it would be... I'm trying to avoid going and buying a hayes book at the moment..... a lil insight on the truck. 1996 Bronco XLT 302 motor not sure what tranny or transfer case. it does have Warn maneul lockers on the front with the 4 high and low push buttons inside. if I push the high I can hear it engauge (if my stereo system is turned down) light comes on on the button and my 4X4 Light come on in the cluster. but If I push low nadda nothing at all.... any Ideas??????? I would like to go through the whole rock course but I can't with 4 high with out tearing up my truck...

might be the shift motor on the t-case, and/or the harness going too it. my cousins old ranger had this problem

I just dropped off the truck to the bodyshop today when I get it back maybe friday I will check the wiring first. if I find nothing wrong which won't be suprising I'm not a wire guy I will give you a call bronco and hopefully it won't cost me too much in parts

not trying to be a smartass, but did you put it in neutral at a dead stop and try it?

Ranger Dave

you  must  be  in 4 hi, then be  at a  stop. put trany in nutral.    then push the  4 low  button.    if it  not that,  its most likeley your  motor under there.

i had  a  94  bronco, ands  had that same trouble.  it was the  motor.

actually I have tried everything but having it in 4 high first... I knew about nutral but I always turned of 4 high first... I'll have to try that

make sure you can start the truck with it in neutral, if the neutral switch is bad it wont start, which means it wont know its in neutral to let u put it in 4 low either.
