88 jeep trans ????

its a 88 jeep wrangler4.0 5 speed the first gear keeps poppin out it will move about a foot then comes out.is an ax15 transall the rest of the gears work great anyone have any answers to it thanks 4 any help.manny

bad synchronizer on first gear. needs to be taken apart and have that one replaced. i'd also just have the rest of them replaced since it will be taken apart anyways.

you sure? ive heard first gear doesnt have a syncro.

and are you positive it is an ax-15?  I believe this sounds like a ba-10 issue
