I have a tbi suburban with a 350 in it, and she is spitting and sputtering something terrible.  Sat for 2 years without being started and the gas was jelly in the tank.  had the tank replace and now she runs like p00 on good gas.  could it have been the old nasty gas that fouled out the plugs? or is it even necessarily the plugs?

thanks in advance!

well id check the fuel filter first. it could be jammed with crap and that old gas. then pull the plugs and se what they look like and then i would go over the plug wires to make sure there not split or cracked. then i would go from there.

sounds like ya got junk in the injectors... you can pull them out wihout pulling off the throttle body... but iw ould pull the whole thing and either find a new one.. or rebuild that one.

crap in the fuel system....take it apart and clean it, or just run it and hope it clears up but i wouldnt recommend that one

i just picked up a 94 burb with the lo5 350 and it was doing basically the same.
new plugs & wires no go, new cap & rotor no go, new e.g.r valve problem solved.
but but there are 3 different valves so you have to mach up your old one.
mine is still running a little rough but i have not had the chance to get out and
really run it to get the old gas burned up,but the e.g.r. made a huge difference.

Its been my experience with injected vehicles that the fuel pump tends to crap up when sitting in old fuel.  I would check pressure and volume and compare to specs.  Sticking you fingernail into the test port and seeing fuel squirt out is not good enough.  Get a gauge and do it right.

I had a '91 Caprice that had the same problem symptoms. Mine was cured with a fuel pump, filter and cleaning the injectors. All that varnished gas got into everything and gummed it up.
