ok i have a 203 behind my 350th....ive done some reading on the dana 300s...seems like it would be a good upgrade...my ? is it worth it? I read that they have 2.62 low range and that they are gear driven and not chain..prob lighter too...how much of a pain the arse is it going to be to upgrade to this...if there is somebody that has done it please post the pros and cons of such a swap....thanks john

I was running a Turbo 400 with the dana 300. I still have it. I just blew the back of the transfercase off. Rear drive shaft let loose. I put a 350 205 in so I could have alittle longer rear shaft.

I'm guessing you would have 4 to $500.00 in adapting a 300 to your 350.Unless G.M. did it in some of the earlier Blazers I don't think it was a production setup. But it's not hard to find this setup behind a TH400.The up side of the 400 is that it is stronger, the down side is that it has a higher 1st gear than your 350.Depending on what kind of money you have in that 350 a TH400 and 300 combo will outway the cons of a 203. Are you looking for more gear or what?

the main issue with a 300 case behind a 350.. is transmission clearance issues..the driveshaft is closer to the trans.. because the t-case is narrower.... but.. it fits with a small diameter driveshaft .. i have put one behind a 350.. and it cost me a whole $1.50...   it takes time, and the ability to drill and tap...

got 350/dana 20 on my sami and yes  the clearance between the front driveshaft and the transmission pan is an issue  once b break the front driveshaft it poke a hole or  banged a huge dent on the tranny pan  the higher the suspension lift  the better clearance at least
