Alright, got my cab back and on the frame. I started on some cab mounts for the back of the cab, temporarily bolted up the fenders and a mirror lol. Also started on my shock mounts for the front. Starting to slowly look like a truck again.

And my shock hoop on the passenger side.

Got quite a bit done today. Finished rear cab mounts and burned them and my shock hoops on. I like the rigid poly body mounts I'm using, they don't squash so that made measuring for my cab mount easy. I also got a lil antsy and mocked up a 19.5" for gits and shiggles.

Man you and me both! especially since those big bastards take up a lot of floor space, under the truck and out of the way LOL

After putting a body back on and mocking up that 19.5", I realized that it was MUCH too tall for what I plan on doing with it. So I switched the shackle from the front, to the rear and that brought it down 4.5"!!! I had to do some clearancing on the crossmember to make room for the leafs, and it's a little tight, and I'll be adding bump stops, but everything should work out fine. It looks completely different now. I'll be heading back out to do some more on it, and I'll be posting a before and after pic of the lowering.

Alright, as promised, here's the before and after pics of the lowering of the front. After some revamping I ended up bringing it back down 3.625", making the measurement from the bottom of the flare to the floor 42"

Now theres lots of room for everything to move around

thanks bud!

Even more good news, I picked up my front adaptors tonight so when my new studs come in the 19.5's are on to stay in the front!

Still have some work to do on my 80 rear, but tax refund is soon so I'll be able to get close to being done with this tank!

It's been a while since I posted an update... but this project just took a MAJOR turn.

I decided that instead of looking like and wishing I had a real HD, I went and bought one. Picked it up for a great price with a blown 6.5 and no trans.

So new plan. The black truck that I've been working on will be rolled behind the barn and covered up. Then the HD is going straight in and the junk 6.5 will be pulled, already missing the transmission.

The HD will get the '93 intercooled Cummins, NV4500 and NP205. I'll drive it around for a bit with the factory I-beam front and use the second Dana 80 I have to build a front axle out of with 60 outers and the 10 lug adapters I have made up.

EDIT- Sorry for the crap picture, I was freezing my butt off.

Hope you guys will stay tuned as I'm very excited about having a legit HD  ;D

i dig the 10' bed thing there, if i were a little better fabber, id opt for a 4 or 6 door with a 8' box tho.  nice work, great drivetrain combo. so how and who makes a 80 in to a front? thats something id be into next winter.

Thanks guys.

Those shock hoops were a weld-it-yourself kit from Datin Fab, only 50 for the set.

As far as this truck tho, its going to be blown apart for parts, and the frame stashed behind the barn for future use.

As soon as the ball is rolling on the HD I'll start a new thread for it.
