I just bought a 87 chevy the other day and the steering column is junk.  I have a 88 chevy that im parting out and just wondering if the steering column from the 88 will work in the 87?  Thanks for the help

Should. I just put a column out of a '91 in my '85 that came originally out of an '82 or so. Everything bolted right up and plugged in right.

Yes you can tighten them, but if the column went too long being loose it may be junk !  I've seen them bad enough where they wont tighten up and need to be replaced.

you can make it work  but as far as i know (from talkin to hte brother in law yesterday)  none of your connections will hook up right.  so your turn signals and whatever else is there wont work.     i can come up and give you a hand with tryin to fix the one in the truck before you do anything else if u want.   just let me know
