I was just wondering what the average exhaust temperature would be on a v8 gas truck?

Hammerlane

varies greatly depending on several circumstances
engine size and HP
throttle position and how long it's been in that position
open or restricted flow
temp measurment at the tip or at the head (or somewhere in between)

Over the Edge Sharpening systems, cutlery, shear, scissor sharpening

It's all fun and games till someone gets knocked up.. down or out !

well its the stock 350 in my chevy. Just wondering what would be the temp. of the exhaust after the cat.

Hammerlane

wild guess would probably be in the area of
100 - 150 degrees at idle
cat is what 1/2 way down the truck?  tailpipe at idle you can hold your hand up to without injury so at the tip its what 80 - 90 degrees (again at idle).
