no fuel ?

i just put a carb and intake on my burban and now im not geting fuel never had this happen before.There was a line going to the fuel tank that was in the vac can i took out does anybuddy know what  is for. its a 86 suburban

Thats a Charcoal canister that filters any gas fumes vented from the tank. If you plugged that vent line that could cause your problem. Think of it as that little yellow vent on a 5 gallon gas can...when it is open you can pour gas into your car, when it is closed it just dribbles out the spout.
