I have a buddy thats got some 38.5x14.5-15 on a 8" wide rim. I told him to go with a 10" wide but hes thinking either that or a 12" wide.  Just wanted to know your guys thoughts?

TOMAC

how long have they been mounted on 8s? might not be able to get them to set on the 12s if theyve been on there for a while...

Mudbuster

I have a set of 35x16x15 boggers mounted on 10" rims and it works just fine I wouldn't go any wider than 10's

well he bought the truck about 4 months ago and they were on that way before he bought it

I'd use 10's. 12's will give you less bulge in the sidewall but I'd feel safer mounting them on 10's if I was gonna air down.

Go with the 10's. My 35-15.50 swamper SX's are mounted on 10's. The skinnier rim helps hold the bead better. I've had them aired down to 3psi and never blown a bead.

haha might be a pain like eroq said. got a set of 18.5x44x16.5s that were on 9.75 rims, and went to put them on 14s and they were a pain in the ass. thats more of a difference, but you might still have trouble switching them

ok ill tell him to go with a 10" wide one.  Thanks everyone
