sounds like his WMP if screwed...

go to Microsofts download center and download the most recent version of Windows Media Player, the codecs might need to be replaced...

did you have a virus problem recently? it might have deleted your codecs...

I had this same problem, I think it was 390Joe who told me how to fix.  Right click on the link of the video, then select (Save Target as), go thru the prompts and save it and then you should be able to open and watch.  Im not a computer whiz, but it worked for me.  Hope this helps!
