I have broke so much and never seen it coming thats how it works I would really pull your front apart and look it over before it breaks when you have to have it!

i guess ill be doin a complete overhual on it this spring then ==doh

Breakage doesn't have no rhyme or reason to it.

off topic, but i definately must disagree with that general statement...

have you checked the balljoints? and all the tierod ends?

all ball joint and tie rods are solid. wheel bearings are tight too. i did a complete shakedown on the front and had my dad even re-check to make sure i didnt miss anything

leaf spring bushing? ubolts are tight? hmm what else. pinion bearing maybe? did ya open that front diff up and look in there yet?

MR NASTY

Your right el dude a definite reason is lack of maintenance and then there's abuse.

i would think that if i still had cvs lol its a solid axle front now

and it seems a bigger portion of the issues were solved, had the ubolts tightened back up and the major choppiness is down. all thats left is what feels like the nobs from the tires going down the road, which could be due to the worn out leaf springs and sad looking bushings...

How about the u-joints at the outer ends of the axles? Those being bad would definitely cause the problem youre having.  Worn out springs n bushings usually tend to make the vehicle wander more so than cause a vibration like what youre talkin about ;D

Kyle

i dont really know how to check them without pulling the whole axle apart... i can rotate the shafts with the driveshaft and they seem to be pretty good, they dont squeak like theyre dry or anything... otherwise idk how to check em ==idunno

Stick a screwdriver or pry bar and see if you get any movement between the caps and braces.

The u-joints dont cost that much , maybe just change them for peace of mind??? ==idk

Kyle

i think i might do that if i tear it all apart in the spring like im planning to.... i just hope ill still have the time to do it lol
