Running MIG Welder off of a Genertor...

Due to my laack of a garage, I've embarked on a mobile tool shop idea for the farm. Too many repairs out back with no heavy equipment to move it back up front.

Can I run a small 220V MIG welder off of a generator?

I have this welder

be enough to power it?

Basically, I'm going to mount a box truck box on a wagon running gear with plugs wired in for an air compressor, welders, etc. I'll use the generator as mobile power and have a plug to tap it into my 240V welder plug at the house. I'll have plenty of power while I'm up front but I don't know how much generator I'll need to run the little MIG when I'm out back. I'd set it up so I'd never run more than one major juice drawing electrical component at a time. ie either the compressor, or the welder or the grinder, etc. Not all at once.

ive ran my  220 miller off the generator i have at home and it still works just as if it waqs plugged into the wall  but i dont remember how big my generator is

take a look at A/C stick welders too.. I have one and love it..
170 amp, Briggs & Stratton motor, completely portable and can weld up to 1/4" plate without bevel.
is also a generator that can operate power tools..

It's all fun and games till someone gets knocked up.. down or out !

My dads welder on the service truck is a generator and mig/arc welder its a miller, has a 20hp onan, has plugs on the front for 110 b.a.m.fer

If you dont use your welder on an almost daily basis like i do... you dont NEED a great welder, a harbor freight special WILL work.. and they do

But if your building some serious p00   Spend the money on a Lincoln or Miller... i use both and they both work GREAT   But your talking atleast $500-$1500 depending on your needs!
