ok so i just heard that the adapter from a 700r4/208 case will bolt up to my 350 turbo so i can run the 208,is this true? if it is then will my adapter thats on my 350 turbo/203 case now be able to bolt a 208 to it instead of the 203 thats on it? i always thought they were different.

the 203 adaptor is different but you can make it work mudbuster did but a 700r4/208 adapotr will work with a 350 208 just need a 2" shim

Yes and No. The adapter will fit both the 700 and the 350 but the output shafts are different lengths. So in order to use that adapter on a 350 you have to get the output shaft from a shortshaft 2wd 350, then cut I think about an inch or inch and a half off that plus get the spacer that betterbeaters refered to.

once again Yes and No. it will if you figure out how to modify it like I have ;) ;) but the 203 and 208 are TOTALLY different bolt patterns so you can't just bolt the 208 to the 203 adapter.

Just to get you really confused my next trick will be to figure out what has to be done to mate the 203 to the 700  ;) Ya know for those that wanna run a doubler but also want overdrive ;D ;D

Ya know I really should pattent the modified adapter ==doh and find someone that can make then from billet aluminum....  Hummmm I will have to do some checking.

i know this is an old posts but i figure what the hell ill update it a little summit sells a kit comes with every thing you need to put a np208 behind a th350 the only thing you need is the stock transfercase adapter off a 700r4 np208 combo  as for the 2wd shaft cutting the shaft will work ive done and used it as a spare trans but id advise to only use it for a spare because theres not much spine left after cuttin it and the first time you jerk a 40 ft strap it makes a really loud noise when it lets go this is the part number for summit   part# 50-7100
hit it like you got a pair
O you dont have a shift light-well when the oil pressure drops hit second gear
