i m postive i sold my 304/T150 out of my project.... under the lil red monster i had ... i want a sbc in there   so i m gonna run 350/350/ ?   i ll want 208 but i doubt i can fit it in there  unless short driveshaft. i can use dana 18 or 20 but the adapter re expensive    oh sorry the frame is a 78 cj5 i think .   I LL POST SO PICS  UP SO EVERYONE CAN GET THE IDEA . my plans is  36 in tsl    not gonna go crazy on the tires just a trail and bogger same time.

my point was what t case can i run or choice with the short wheelbase .. with the least cost

I've got a turbo 400 that has the adapter to run a Dana 300. Sell it to you pretty cheep...Also open to trades.

I have a wrangler and had to ditch the 208 for a fixed yoke 205. Gained almost 10 inches.

If you can find a Dodge 208 you can take the fixed yoke off the back of that and put it on the back of your Chevy 208 and gain like 6 inches and you can move everything forward to gain a couple more inches

I did a lot of research on the dodge tail shaft and housing swap and while it is do able its not as easy as just swapping the backs. The 205 is pretty much bullet proof to so unless weight or gear ratio  is an issue I see no reason for the 208. Jmo though

True I know it's not a 10 minute job but I always like better ratios and saving weight. But you do have a good point about the 205 never being the weak point.

I'm running a 350/350/205 in my wrangler not sure on the length though since I'm at my parent and my jeep is in my garage. I'll let ya know when I get a chance.
