I ordered a comp cam 260hr cam and lifter kit today as well as a marine intake and 30lb injectors. I was going to go with a 270 cam but low end would suffer. I will be installing all this in the upcoming week and then it is off to the tuner, local guy who does all the tuning on the super cars for Berger Chevrolet...shooting for that magic 1hp per CID!

With the marine intake it will be all set up for boost, I would only need to change injectors and tune for accordingly to how much boost I will use.

STS turbo Bravada might be a reality in the near future...I would love to eat a Vette 0 to 60 ==roll

Wynjammer also makes a supercharger kit for $2500, stock pulley it is 6psi but you can get different pulleys for them, only thing is they are extremely loud and I want to keep this as stealth as possible so when I beat someone they will be scratching their head thinking WTF I just got beat by a Bravada with mud tires ==roll

Will probably end up going with the supercharger though for the simple fact that everything will be under the hood...I dont like the idea of a STS under the truck in the winter...however boost will have to wait until next tax time, I just spent over a grand on cam, intake and injectors.

Will post some 0 - 60 time videos when done and see how much faster it is...also going to race a friends 1997 blazer, that will be kind of a disadvantage race though because he has 3.43 gears and we have 3.73's so ours is quicker out of the hole as of right now.

Sweet....pics?
In the shop right now, my friend who is a GM Tech is doing the install, you need to re-wire new injectors for marine intake...should be done by tomorrow but I need to wait till next week to get it in for a dyno tune.

It should definitely put a little pep in her step  :)

Cam is in, intake and injectors are installed and wired up, running real rich and has a pretty bad idle right now...waiting to get it on EFI live and have the tune done, I suspect with the 30lb injectors we will have to shorten the pulse width among other things...tune coming next Friday and then we will pull some 0-60 runs, maybe a 0-100 run and see if she performs better.

I can tell you it is a pretty dam fast 4.3 above 3000rpm as it sits, I think timing and fuel control will improve the low end performance, right now the computer is going WTF ==roll

So I took the Bravada down to Indiana yesterday to get dyno tuned at Waitforme performance shop, Jesse the owner went above and beyond tuning my truck to get every last ounce of performance out of it and did everything I wanted done in my tune. Very nice guy, knows what he is doing and puts customer satisfaction first...will go to him for all my tuning needs.

PS: Seen a lot of bad ass cars, CTSV putting down 960rwhp Some other guy had one putting something like 650 to the rear wheels said it was about 770 at the crank ==roll
The thing that impressed me was he spent as much time and paid attention to detail to our $5000 truck as he did with these 100k machines.

2000 Olds Bravada
242rwhp and 320ft pound of TQ...my goal was that magic 1hp per cubic inch 262cid, he said I am probably in the neighborhood of 280 at the crank so I achieved my goal and she definitely has a lot more pep in her step, I think I am right there in the neighborhood of the Cyclon/Typhoon HP range  ;D

Will get some pics uploaded sometime here, some bad ass rides in there such as the CTSV's and he had a Mosler MT900s, Viper, some Corvettes.

PS: Again, one more thing when we got home the trip computer shows a mpg average of 19.4mpg reset before leaving Indiana and that is cty/hyw combined...this truck was rated at 16cty/19hyw brand new so I am getting way more horsepower than stock yet still getting above rated gas mileage...before any work I use to get an average of 17mpg, Fanfuckingtastic ==roll

Well...imma have to do this to my blazer...what was the total cost?

All said and done I have about $1500 into it, I ended up sending back the comp 260 cam and ordered a custom grind with a duration of 268/278, Lift .500/.500 112lsa, cam is advanced 2 degrees.

Has heads machined for higher lift cam and 2.02 valves with 3 angle valve job. Heads was also decked to achieve a 9.8 to 1 compression ratio. That was the majority of the cost of this build. Picked up the Marine intake and injectors used on Ebay for $300, then you have all the odds and ends like gaskets and fluids.

I am at 242hp at the wheels on the dyno and the guy doing my tune said that is about 280 at the crank...however I think I am actually about 300 maybe a tad more because he didn't take into consideration that I have a transfercase. I figure 20% loss through the drivetrain would equal 300 at the crank?

My intake gasket was leaking to begin with and I figured if I am going to be that deep into the motor I might as well change the cam and get some power out of it, one thing lead to another and decided to change head gaskets now rather than later and when I got the heads of I took advantage of machining them for a bigger cam and valves.

My friend has a newish Silverado with a 4.8 2wd and I raced him up to about 80mph the other day and just destroyed him...he was like WTF, I told him I just installed a cold air intake ==roll

The thing is a beast out of the hole if I foot brake it and leave at about 2500rpm it just bunny hops out of the hole with the AWD...will be posting some vids of 0-60 and 0-100 runs pretty soon, we need to get a new camera first because our kid took ours to school on a field trip and lost it!
