04 chevy sas

does anyone know of where i could find a kit to do a sas swap for 99+ 1/2 ton, what is a good front end to use for the swap?, has anyone done this on this body style on here?, any major downfalls i could come accross? just something im looking into not for sure whether or not ill end up doing it...

my dana 60 is good candiate for your front swap thats for sale on here .  with some kit that make it all easier.  i know many have had it done

dana 60 if ya got the $$$ or go with a 1978-79 f250 dana 44 high pinion

heres a link for ya pretty expensive but worth it. if you can do pretty good fab work make your own or talk to dave "wildtime" he might be able to build ya one

if ya buy the offroad direct kit ya wont encounter any major issues. the biggest things will be getting brake lines long enough, crossover steering setup on it(offroad direct makes a crossover kit), and the front driveshaft wont be long enough. and the rear shaft SHOULD be lengthened at some point down the road so half of the slip yoke isnt sticking out of the tcase.

an SAS may require a lil more work than a bolt on ifs kit but it is definately worth it in the long run!

ford axle is a high pinion aloows for better driveshaft angle and it is a drvierside drop axle. on these chevy front drive shaft is on the driver side so u have to have ford

there are a such thing as a low pinion d44.... a high pinion 44 is just more sought after

but as u know if ya want some good lift high pinion is better. but for more of a stock or just mild lift low pinion is ok

im a welder/fabricator

then try and build it urself! i did it, wasnt too hard, just time consuming cuz i was always rechecking my measurements

it would be kinda hard for me to do that much fabricating i was hit by a car in december
