not trying to discourage ya, but i think it would be cheeper to buy one. if it wasnt, everyone would build one... just the machine work will be $$$$

you might want to pm mudpuppy he built one a couple years ago for his drag jeep. He had it up forsale last year.

Gear driven would certainly be stronger and is what most folk try to run... Chains stretch and break. As for "making" one, well, like others have said it would be easier and cheaper (and more dependable) to buy one.

use the power of google. i got one sprocket of ebay and the other from northern industial in muskegon.
