cam style

retrofit hyd roller
hyd flat tappet

Kyle

the motor:
400sbc high 9s compression
dart iron eagle heads 180cc runners 2.02/1.60
dart dual plane intake
670cfm truck avenger carb
trans:
700r4
totally rebuilt
valvebody "reprogrammed" for firmer shifts
aftermarket torque converter approx. 1300 stall

this is the cam comp chose for me after filling the entire online email sheet thingy:
http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=165&sb=0

ive been wanting to switch to the roller to lengthen up my power band(which from what im told is what they do...) and help with valvetrain life etc, the only problem is that a fricken kit is expensive as all h***.... and i know a regular flat tappet is basically half the cost but im not sure if i will be getting the power ive been wanting from it.... this is starting to become very frustrating for me  ==pissed

is the cam they gave me gonna be too big of one? i want to have peak torque round 2500-3000rpms but still be able to have good response if im slowly crawling down a trail or putsing around on the dunes im not fighting the motor to keep it going. the "specialist" from comp "claims" that it would put me right in that area where i would want to be

i could also maybe go with this one but im not sure if this would be too small or give me a nice broad torque curve with it being just a regular flat tappet:

they'll both give ya good power bud, the roller will last longer, but do you have the valvesprings to handle the extra weight of roller lifters?

supposedly the springs are good for up to .500 lift... thats what the guy i bought em from claimed.... might end up just gettin new ones that come in a kit just so i KNOW

good for 500 lift and good for roller rockers are a lil different.. getting a whole kit would be a good idea
