after taking a look at your feedback, it was a big help  ==rockbanana, not kidding.

anyways, with the thought of your feedback and a few hours online, i came up with a plan, tell me what you think.

1. i am keeping my 700-r4, i looked at the gearing ratios compared to the 400, and 350. i was liking the almost 25% LOWER gearing. in my mind, i figured it would be good for wheeling and add touque. i know the valve bodie is like twice the $$ compared to the others, but i know what the trans has been through, it would just make me feel better about it, cuz i would know everything about whats going into it. and it think the $$ it will take for the valve body is just the price it takes to feel this false sence of security. plan on installing new T converter, and a full manual V body.

2. im going to keep the np 208 t case, for now...
i like knowing that it all is fine as is, and i dont have to change anything. i also like the 2:1 low gear. and the capability of finding parts or replacments. some day i would like to go to a 205, but not today. like i said in my other posts, im leaving for collage, so the less messing around i have to do with making parts compatible for others, the better.

3. atm, i have a 350, very mild cam, later i would like to go to a BBC, but ^^^, ill get there when i get there.

4. id really like to do an axle swap, i really like the 14 bolt FF idea, i like the capability of just removing 6 bolts and pulling shafts without messin round. and the fact that they are bigger than my stock 10 bolts ;) cuz i have broken my fair share of axles, easy enough fix, but it gets reall old reall fast ($$). i can do an axle swap pretty fast, in the matter of a weekend, if all goes well. also plan on changing gear ratio to 4.56 or higher as needed

5. i do like getting dirty  ;) so i wanted to make a set of "ladder bars" for trac bars. well, atleast that look.

this is my minor plan so far, just good to be looking in a direction. so any tips or tricks on any of this would be great! removing, assembling, anything!
id like to know if this is the right direction for me, im just doing a wheeler, i drive it to work daily, and i want to run 42s-44s, so there will be weight on the axles.
also, is this trans good enough for what im using it for? same goes for the 208?
but my biggest question is what size stall converter? for motor just say stock 350. i dont know specs on that "mild cam" i just need to be pointed in the right direction so i can go from there.

so far i really like this fourm, ive posted up a few  ==noob questions and have yet to been bashed. all of you guys have answerd my questions with great responses and have really helped me out.  ++peace thank you  ++peace
