ok so my truck will run right at 180 190 degrees at idle or just putting around but as soon as i start getting after it wants to jump to 210 220  or so  the ?? is i guess is should i change out the t stat for a cooler one or am i missing something   i had it running for almost 2 hours the other day  and got about a gallon more coolant into it  i can see the coolant flowing thru the rad and am asuming the air is all gone  soo whats everyone runnin for a t stat temp  range  or should i put a restrictor  cut out t stat in it ???

what kinda truck is it?   i like to run a 190 t stat in my chevy.

also make sure the radiator cap is sealing, if it's not then it cant build up pressure. sounds like this is whats going on, pretty common. Id say swap caps and try that

Probably has a new cap already, dont it? Id put a good 13-15 lb or so one on it just to be sure.. Sounds like its got air in it. Might need to add some burp valves in a few strategic places ;D

i run a restricter washer in mine, got to make sure you got all of the air out mine runs 180 with the fan off.

if its not a new cap try that, also fromt the pics, it looks like the radiator might be to high, I had this problem with my rear mount rad.  I ended up having to put it on a angle, Idealy you want the top of the rad same height of the engine, in our world of muddin and rear mount rad's thats almost impossible, but thats what it was for me.  :)

is your  bottom hose on your  rad  colaping when you  jump on the  gas pedle.  normaly  there a  spring in there  to stop that.

its  just  a guess.

and  you need  to  burp it  realy  good  .  i see the  rad  in the  back.

my  rad  was  stood  up in the  back of  my rig,  i never  had  no trouble

got springs in all the hoses  took the t stat out and replaced it runs at 160 now    im letting it run with the cap off too get the air out  at around 1500 rpms then at idle and vice versa  i can see it flowin good    would it help if  the truck was at a steep angle  get the engine higher than the cap ??
