gm 10 bolt ?

I have a 10 bolt out of a 95 chevy 1/2 ton 4 wheel  (which is said to be a 30 spline ? ) i want to put it in a 86  chevy 10 bolt 2 wheel (which is said to be a 28 spline )i think i got it figued out, everything but the splines what do i have to do to make my 28 spline axle shafts work with the 30 spline carrier
, or is it even possible? thanks

i want the put the carrier from a 95 4wheel into a 86 2wheel

i am doing this to my street rod. see i want to use the 28 spline axle shafts (5 lug) and i picked up a 95 4wheel axle which is 30 spine carrier right?


i want to take a 95 4x4 axle and make it a 86 2wheel drive

gotcha         i was thinking you had a solid axel from a 95.

Wont work. Carrier bearings and axle shaft diameter is different. Even the pinion gear is a bit different. Ran into this trying to use a 80s carrier for a 95 truck ...

go figure thats my luck well i got a 10 bolt 3.73 gear for trade then lol thanks guys

Why not just change the gear man? The price isn't much different than what you are gonna pay for u bolts, brake lines (that break), and whatever other problem you can run into using a 30 year old rear
