I have a 79 blazer with a 4" lift and 1/2 tons. I put 3/4 tons and a all spring 6" lift on it. The rear axle looks like it is to far back. I'm measuring about 108" wheelbase. Stock is 106.5". The new springs measure 51". The old one are more like 49". Do I have the rear springs on backwards?  I didn't think it mattered on 52" spring. What am I missing?

Merc09

Its possible. measure from eye to the tit on the center of the spring from each side and see how much of a difference there is.

Was this a new lift or used?  Also how much pressure was on the springs when you tightened the shackles.

It does matter which way the springs go, measure from the center pin to the eye-let, short side goes in front. I put one on backwards before :(

It was is a used lift. Some pressure on the shackles. Wouldn't  think it was enough to effect anything. I was leaning more toward the old springs being a little shorter.

I measured with the weight on the blazer. I think I figure it out. On backwards. The eyelets are different. Think the spring over eyelet goes forward. I have towards the rear. Oops! I'll let you guys know.

redneckmafia01

Yup. Had them on backwards. Measures 106.5 now.
