Watch the video again..
I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME!!!!  due to a brake fire...
if you have never had a tire explode right next to you...

I PROMISE... you do NOT want that to happen.

Do as you wish.
not trying too bee  a smart a$$  but in the video there was air in the tire ??  is that what causes it or from the tire burning from inside??  don't know soo I ask lol

==np
Driver came into the yard with brakes dragging (tires aired to 100 psi) drums go hot and heated the tire.. I went to crawl underneath the trailer when the inner tire exploded.. thats the last thing I remember..
Tire casing was 12 yrs old, been recapped twice..

It isn't really about the rim or heat generated... I believe it has more to do with the tire itself...

heated and welded in the past ??? yep, sure have ... many times.. used heat to remove stubborn lugs too...
never again.  steel sliver in my left eye, doc said I almost lost it.. I was pulling steel outta my skin for a couple weeks and lost some hearing in my left ear, the worst part was removing the melted rubber that stuck.

Over the Edge Sharpening systems, cutlery, shear, scissor sharpening

It's all fun and games till someone gets knocked up.. down or out !
Gone postal.. back in a minute!

my old boss and  I were standing counting pvc pipe on a trailer   next too us was the stone truck  that  was there sitting  for a couple months    as  we went towards the front of the truck  the 22.5  super  single  or wide steer tire blew up and    I mean blew apart     there was no explanation for it  that's why I asked  it must just be luck or bad luck of the draw  I guess    I told him it was a sign too get out of the tiling  business   but  it makes me wonder the tractor tires ive  recentered were  all way older than me  ???
