327 had a small journal crank thru 1967. In 1968 and 1969 it had a large journal crank. On the top[ rear portion and on  the driverside of the block you will find a letter followed by 2 #'s .  Example   " L 24 5  " .   That means the block was mfg 12-24- 1965 .    The smalll journals measured 2.0 on the rods and 2.3 on the mains. The large journals were increased to 2.1 on the rods to 2.45 on the mains. In 1966 chevy made a 302, which was essentialy a small journal
327 with a 283 crank.  That was a high winding S.O.B. and a lot of fun.   So, check the mfg date and go from there.
