267 small block

i know someone wanting to get rid of a 267 chevy small block. i dont know much about these motors and cant really find to much about them online. have you ever had one and are they good blocks. are they notorise for and flaws?? do they have weak blocks,warp easy,over heat alot?? any impute would be great  GotMud?

the only thing I can think of right off is the stock heads don't really hold up when you run it hard for a long period of time. usually they get hot a start smoking off one bank or the other. they are old motors and don't really remember alot about them.

i wouldn't use it cuz it's a small bore engine. not much of anything power wise...because of the small bore you don't have much for cylinder head choices as it would have to have miniature valves. all in all. don't waste your money. 305 is the smallest engine i'd ever wanna build.

good for an antique car but not good for muddin, depends on what you plan to do with it.

are you sure its a 267??? never heard of one... 265, 283 are the one I have heard of!

yea its stamped 267 right on it. i had to look a few times myself. i was just gonna throw fresh coat of paint on it and clean it up a little and save it for some sunday crusier i may build down the road. it runs and i got it for free.

My chevy V8 ID book says they produced the 267 from 1978-81.  3.5" bore and 3.48" stroke , 2 bolt main.
