dipstick ?

hey  here soon im going to be pulling the manual trans out of my 82 chevy and puttin a th350 in it.  my question is how long of a transmission dipstick do i need to get?  ive seen a few diff lenghts and just wondering which one do i need to work right?

8ft. long lol. try and get one out of the same year. and if u can't find one, i got one and the tranny if interested. pm me if interested

well i planned on just getting a new one off ebay or soemthing but i wasnt sure on which length i need cuz there are a few diff listed for this trans.  but when i look online say at summit or anything  it didnt say which one was needed for this year truck.

well i am not sure then lol. try and fine one for the exact make, model, and year. call a junk yard and say u have a auto in that year and ask them the length on the dip. then get what u need.

The length doesn't matter as long as the dipstick and tube are matched up.

i know the dipstick and tube need to be matched, but i see there are 27in, 31in and i believe i seen a 34in long dipstick for this transmission and i wasnt sure which one to run.  i was hoping maybe somoene that has one of these trucks that came with a th350 trans either knew how long or could measure it up for me.    i dotn wanna go with say the shorter one and have ot reach way in the engine compartment to reach it.
