Why Do Vehicles Sell Better...

I was reading through today and a question popped into my head.

Why do vehicles sell better for some people than others?

There's alot of vehicles that get bought and sold a couple times on here amongst members. One person will buy truck A off of here, drive it, fix it, break it, or just let it sit, then sell it on here for another member to enjoy. I noticed that some of the trucks wouldn't sell forever the first time they were listed but sell super quick when they're listed later. Or the opposite. Sell super quick the first time then take months to sell when it's listed later. So I got to thinking, why is that? Usually the trucks listed for the same price or less than it was before. Usually they're in the same shape or better (or worse depending on who got it).

I think it depends alot on the ad. I like long, full disclosure ads, filled with pictures from every angle, listing every pro and con of whatever vehicle it is. That way, I know right away what's going on with it. As a buyer I think it helps me to eliminate the trucks I don't have the resources to fix without spending the time to go check it out. This especially comes in handy when said vehicle is a couple hours or so away. As a seller, I like it because it eliminates alot of the nonsense calls from the people who aren't really looking to buy it anyway (read, virtual tire kickers). Helps eliminate those who don't want it right off the bat.

Just my thoughts this Monday morning. What do you guys think?

I think the ad has a lot to do with it, and I know that location is a big one for us. I think it can also matter if a trailer is required to it's something that can be thrown in the back of the truck.

Good old supply and demand. Having supply doesn't do much for you if at the moment there is no demand.
