trailer question

ok i got a trailer a while ago and got a reg for it but never plated it and im THINKIN about sellin it but dont wanna pay 75 for a reg and plate for a trailer im gonna get rid of so how can i sell it without registerin it in my name and savin myself 75 bucks any help is appreciated

Got any friends in ohio? If so they only require a trip to the scale to get a plate and registration for a trailer. You could have a buddy register it there, and sell it in mi or ohio then.

u can do that here if you tell them u built it yourself but then they want to know where you go the material and how much it was. and if you tell them it was just stuff you had then they want to know what the materials are worth.

it depends. did the old owner date the reg and fill in all your info

if not then you are good to go just don't fill that in untill you sell it to the next guy and use his info.. If he did then you may have to put it in your name first if you do then just tack that onto the price you sell it for..

i sold a jetski trailer b4 that wasnt plated in like 6 or 7 years with just a bill of sale....pretty sure the guy had to have it wieghed and what not but i never heard anything back from him.

trailer reg are just like the vehicles reg. its just a piece of paper that has the persons name and address and info on the trailer. and on the back he signs it. thats it no place to fill out.

if you don't have a reg,take it some where and get it weighed,you can use that for your reg.

he has a reg. just needs to know if thats all he has to have to go to sos and get the plate and reg in his name. or do you have to have a receipt from the seller.
