Just put windows 7 on the desktop here, but during instalation it kept messing up so i started over, well now windows 7 is up and running but the hard drive is almost full & theres 3 or 4 "windows.old" folders on my C: drive, how can i get rid of them? I'm assuming that means windows 7 installed partially like 3 times.. really need the space back & its making this thing run really slow plus the black screen when it starts up & i have to choose to start windows 7..

Update..
Theres not enough room on the hard drive to run this one more time, if i try to delete the windows.old. folders it says i need permission from the administrator, and I am logged in as the administrator on this computer ??? all i know is those 4 folders are using up 36+gb of space

also i have 2 disks here one is 32 bit and one is 64 bit, the 32 is the one that wouldnt work and when i used the 64 it came up n showed that there was 3 copys already on the computer, but now it says its running on windows 7 64 bit, which im pretty sure is too much for this old dell,  how can i switch to 32 now that 64 is on here?

Try booting into safe mode and then deleting the old windows files. Personally I would wipe the drive clean and just reinstall XP unless you have a fast CPU and lots of RAM.
