BAD APPLE

am i the only one who has a daily driver that its hard to get aftermarket parts for. I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with a mighty 4.7 litre v8, a few days ago the clutch on my AC compressor started to go out im guessing the bearing is toast, went to the dealership to see how much for a new clutch bearing, they said i had to tear it apart to get the bearing out to get a number off to figure out which one i needed but that will put me without a truck for a couple days, so i aske how much for clutch assembly the damage was 300 just for the clutch, so i went down to the local napa store to see what they offered and ofcourse its a dealership only part but they did offer the compressor and clutch combo the damage for that would be 300,  so then i decided i would just bypass the ac and run a shorter belt. well cant do that the belt will rub together going around the ideler pulley and the tensioner, so then a friend told me to get a bypass pulley to go in place of the AC compressor well guess what they do not make an aftermarket bypass pulley for my year and size engine, so that leaves me with going without a DD for a couple days while i get a bearing order and just rebuild it, after all this trouble i have decided that my next truck will be a common engine for a good year truck, does anyone else have a problem getting aftermarked parts for thier vehical
no rest for the wicked

I have a friend who has a 2008 or 09 Ford Diesel dually. He was in Florida and one of the wheels the lugs backed off. It destroyed the wheel, studs and lugnuts. It was a Sat. night he had to wait till Monday for a dealership to open because if I remember correctly the studs were a dealer item.
