locking hubs *NEED HELP NOW*

i have a 1995 ford f-150 with a ttb dana 44 5 lug. i went to replace tie rod ends and wheel bearings tonight, i got the tie rod ends done but when going to remove the hubs to do wheel bearings i discoverd i can not get the screws out of the caps on the lockouts..thers 6 screws holding it on i did manage to get 5 out of the drivers side but the 6th wouldnt budge it was an allan head i used the corect size but it just tore the head up i used a star bit and beat in the screws and thats how i managed to get 5 out of the drivers side but i cant get any others to budge anything i put in there turns off and strips the hole more..i NEED to get these out tomorow since i need the truck to get to work monday also should i replace my lockouts the have some slop inside the hub(i can grab the cap and move it around inside the hub)

drill the head off the bolt and take the cap off then turn the bolt out with visegrips...

Yup drill the heads off like lilred said. You could have heated the hub up where the bolts go down in it but if they're already striped might as well drill them.

drillem, there will be lots sticking out. about 3/4 of an inch. they stick in the caps, you can usually take the stud out thats left with your fingers

Well I need new lockouts any ways and the caps are worn bad by the screw holes in spots

new lockouts wouldnt be a bad investment...

well ya had to basically destroy the old ones to get them out.... and if theres slop in the turn dial theres a good chance somethin may break or fall off and get caught in the bearings

a lot of times i have issues with the old screws not wanting to come out, so i got a set of craftsman easy out things, and they work great everytime
