i did a search on here but didnt really find my answers.  me and my brother in law are going ot be building our own cross over and high steer kitsfor our dana 60s (82 chevy  mine and 78? ford his)  but we are unsure on what size tubing we should use to make it.   we were talkin about using just a regular set of tie rod ends that is on the trucks now but we arent real sure what the wall thickness should be on the tubing.

thanks for any help

1" solid... stock tie rods work good!  the thicker the tubing the better.. i wouldnt use anything real  thin.. if you doubt it'll work.. then dont use it!

i used 2 long ends tie rods from a chevy truck, 1 standard 1 reverse thread and 2 adjusting sleeves. welded the sleeves to a solid bar and walaa! crossover steering

just make sure ya dont do any butt joints with anything! if ya use sleeves grind a portion of the ends of the solid stock down to fit into the sleeves, thatll give ya more strength and more area for welds too

I  don't know how much lift you have but hydraulic ram would eliminate a couple weak points no matter how much lift you had...
