next question how do you take the good one out and put back in without breaking it lol

marshall

its not too hard, they dont glue in. or call greater michigan glass, they can do the swap for about $50. you have to pull the chrome piece out of the seal and work the glass out. practice on the broken one.

Rubber strip around the windshield comes out then gently push out the window.  Soapy water helps. A screwdriver helps too.

Older Chevy's use a piece of rubber to hold them in.  No glue.  Had to change 1 or 2 on my 82 a couple times from trees being down in the trails and mine being the biggest truck hitting them.

Me and JC took one out of a late 80's burban, whoever put it in, glued it to the seal....cracked it taking it out, but it is a heck of a lot better than the one i had....still running the cracked one.

Ive done a bunch of these. Get some dawn dish soap and smear it all over the gasket. The gasket is inter-locking, use a spoon or somethin smooth to get it to open up, exposing the edges of the windshield. Gotta have somebody inside pushin steadily but very gently outward while you start workin the spoon to get in behind it. Work the middle top to the top corners, then work down the sides, the window will lean out and you can pick it up and carry it away. If youre by yourself, just cut it out with a box knife. To install, open up the gasket and soap it real good. Work from the bottom middle to the bottom corners then up the sides, then middle top to the top corners. Do not force it, ever. Just take very small bites at a time and wiggle the spoon around alot, be gentle. The corners of the gasket must be squared up in the corners of the cab's window frame or you will just be fightin it. ;D
