I'm not much of a fabrication type, and cant weld for jack squat and every time I measure something it is ALWAYS wrong.  I have been looking into lift kits and have decided on a BDS (DUE TO THE " YOU BREAK IT, WE'LL REPLACE IT, NO QUESTIONS ASKED LIFETIME WARRANTY ") 5in. and a 2-3 inch body. Has any one here used BDS and is it a good kit? Even with the warranty, whats the point if there kit just plain sucks.I am also wondering how hard the install is. I have never installed a lift but would like to learn. The problem is that I would not be able to shut my truck down for a long period of time (2-3 days at the most). If I have the shop do it i am looking at $500 for the suspension and another $500 for the body however that creates the problem that in the end I will still have zero knowledge on how to install a lift and whatever does break, i would rather replace it myself vs. having to go to a shop and losing money. I can work on anything but lift kits, where i am clueless. Also, how tall are you running down the road and do you get messed with. Last time i checked, MI. legal height is something like 24in. from center of frame to ground. Correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to get your ideas on what i should do. Any info is greatly appreciated.

bds has some of the best kits around. thats why you pay for em. the warranty is just what they say a no bs warranty. your not to far from me if you like bring it to the shop and ill give ya a hand. looking at a day for the lift and the same for the body.

Thanks guys, that helps alot. I will take you up on that offer when i get everything. I just had metal installed in my wrist so im not working at the moment. I am looking at having it all sometime this winter or first month of spring. How much will you charge and being in a shop will i be able to get involved? I really want to learn this stuff. Tired of buying lifted trucks and not having a clue about the lifts on them.
