I was looking through LMC truck for goodies for my 90 k5 blazer, and noticed they sell a TBI or EFI spacer that they claim offers better fuel econ, and slight increase in power/thottle response,

just curious if anybody else runs one, and if you noticed any real advantage to using one.

i ran the helix design on my 94 gmc sierra, it seemed to have a little more throttle response, and gained a couple mpg

theory makes sense, fuel/air has more time to better mix.

this means:
more efficient burn
more torque
easier to move
gets better gas mileage.

The TBI spacers absolutely work on TBI motors proven on the Dyno and at the same time they do not work on Vortec motors with with either CPI or Sequential injection, they lose power, also proven on the Dyno.

ive run the spacer on my throtle body and yes there is a diffrence noticed in responce and milage

What about EFI ?  thats what my 90 k5 blazer has,

I'm not too familar with either system, but LMC lists the spacer for TBI motors......

efi and tbi are the same thing,
Kinda, EFI Electronic Fuel injection, TBI Throttle Body Injection. There is Electronic fuel injection and mechanical injection, any car made from 1987 and up will have electronic fuel injection, 1957 Chevy's 283/283hp motors had mechanical injection as well as a select few muscle cars in the 60's.

There is however many kinds of electronic fuel injection.

Single-point or throttle body injection (TBI)
Port or multi-point fuel injection (MPFI)
Sequential fuel injection (SFI)
Central point injection (CPI)
Direct injection

If you have a TBI Chevy motor let me know and I will give you a link for the correct spacer you need. The ones you are looking at could very well be for the Vortec motor that are CPI injection and they will not work yet it is still electronic fuel injection.

hey matt, pretty soon you will be 73-00 chevynut loll

FTW

Spacer+cold air intake set up woke the 454 up in a big way well worth the$$$ did not save much fuel though was hell on rear tires not sure why the low end torque inproved so much but it did

I want to pick up some for my Full Size and my S-10. I keep hearing there work well TBI motors.
Hokey Fab- Idea and Fab guy.

yeah i had one on my 454 tbi, it did make a fairly noticable differance, not like, 100 hp or anything but a few hp at any rate, better power band, and better econ, when i kept my foot out of it, i'd say they're worth the couple bucks to do it, i put a 1.5" spacer on my 351c in my comet, that woke it up ALOT that car gained a good bit of hp, torque, and lost mpg... but thats probably my fault. lol
