cam question

What kind of cam are you guys running. I have a 355 with -5 cc flat tops, dart sportsman II heads, victor Jr air gap intake, 750 pro form carb and msd ignition I was running a 555 lift intake and exhaust but me and my buddies think it was a little to big?

my old cam was .560 lift my new one will be about .650-.660 lift  theres alot more to the cam then lift... you can have tons of lift and it wont do you any good with out duration!

and really depends on application too, if ur lokin for low end torque or high end hp

I have 555 straight across in my 358 small block you need a stall converter and she will scream. At least mine does I have 456 gears and 40 inch boggers and it will hold 3 gear at 7000 rpm

Might try running it again with these dart heads I have now before I had the old 202 turbo heads

make sure the cam is set right.. it'll make all the difference in the world, to far advanced or retarded and it'll run like crap!!!
