This applies to Mt. Morris city for now (not township - yet). Restrictions on pit bull terriers (APBT, AST, SBT) or mixes to be considered "vicious dogs". Requirements: $100,000 liability insurance, signs, leashed, muzzled, structure/ containment specs.

First reading was snuck in at the end of September, public reading was on October 4th. Several advocates spoke against it but the proposed ordinance remains unchanged from the 1st reading. Special thanks to Amanda Barber for the reminder, and for being there to speak up for our dogs!

all dogs have the ability to bite. to discriminate on one breed of dog is breedism. i have a pitbull and she is the best dog i've ever had. she doesn't leave the yard, she doesn't bark at people, she's never been aggressive. if we have to do this for one breed, it should have to be done with all. on the other hand my cat will f*#k you up...

i have three and the sombitches better come with guns cuz they my kids and my 2 daughters my pits are kids to me and ya aint takin them without a fight they are very loyal dogs just like my old passed rot raise them rite and best damm friend ya have

Thats stupid I know plenty of people with pit's I can think of a dozen off hand and they play nice with kids theyve never been any kind of mean. Just because some d-bag in detroit raised dogs to fight then got his throat eaten shouldnt reflect every one. Thats dog racism
